Feeling At Home: Take A Break

Since you’ve arrived in your host country, you’ve been running around like a recently relocated, headless chicken. Now that you’re mostly settled, it’s time to take a well-deserved break.

Doorknob

If you are still unpacking, decorating and rearranging the furniture for the seventh time (I do that too), you don’t want to miss this great post via Apartment Therapy: Take a break in the middle of decorating.

Otherwise, simply slow down, breathe, and check in with yourself.

How has your mood been lately? Are you feeling content, energized, adventurous? Or are you more frazzled, emotional, irritable than before you moved?

Pay attention to your body: is it trying to tell you something?

Any tension or aches that you hadn’t noticed up to now?

Your break may be as quick as a 2-minute check-in with your body. But maybe you’ll notice that you need a brisk walk, or a long meditation session.

Maybe what you need is to make a date with your partner and go try a new-to-you restaurant for dinner tonight.

Just do what works for you.
