Less than a week left to sign up for World Blog Surf Day!

If you are an expat blogger, you definitely want to join in the WBSD fun.

Just think about it – on June 13, you get to:

- Post about a favourite expat topic, that is to say, food!
- Get a link to your blog from a fellow expat blogger and return the favour by linking to another expat blog,
- Get additional traffic as we all visit the other participants’ blogs and tweet about them,
- Meet awesome people living in exotic locales, and discover some great blogs.

And did I mention that the theme is food? One of my favouritest topics in the world!

Sign up and next steps

The logistics have changed a bit over the last month (WBSD is now hosted by Sher of Czech Off The Beaten Path), so here are the steps to follow if you want to sign up:

1. You can see all the details and sign up here

2. The deadline to sign up is Saturday, June 6 – that’s just around the corner, so make sure you get in and sign up today!

3. Wait for Sher to announce who links to whom

4. Publish your food-related blog post on Saturday, June 13 – don’t forget to link to the next blogger!

5. Have fun, browse, leave comments, make new friends.

I hope to see you around on June 13th!

Emmanuelle

  1. Hi Emmanuelle,
You’re so right…I’m still in the first phase of my living in the Czech Republic…just 2 and a half years…and it does get lonely! But I’m making some new friends through different activities–and that is helping immensely!

We have an update about WBSD you can read here: http://sheroffthebeatenpath.blogspot.com/2009/05/world-blog-surf-day-update.html

We also have a reporter for WBSD–Thandelike–you can read about her on the post, too. Here’s the bio to include for Thandelike (along with a backlink): Anastasia Ashman is an American cultural producer based in Istanbul, and is a creator of Expat Harem, the anthology by foreign women about modern Turkey. Her Tweetstream focuses on women, travel and history and she shares resources for writers/travelers, expats, Turkophiles & culturati of all stripes.

If it would be easier to email about WBSD, please send me a note!

    Have a great day,
    Sher :0)

  2. That’s wonderful news! Anastasia is a dedicated Twitterer and all-around great person – I am very happy that you found a way for her to be part of WBSD.

I will publish an extra post about WBSD at the end of this month, after I wrap up the Expat Happiness Tips series. I will also send a few tweets about it.

    Have a great day!

  5. Hi Dario! I believe that the WBSD organisers are planning to hold the next round before the holiday season. I highly recommend taking part if you’re interested – it’s a lot of fun and a great way to get to know fellow expat bloggers :)

I will give everyone a heads-up when I hear more about the next installment.
